Due to reasons beyond the control of DB Schenker, Inc., an Emergency Intermodal Surcharge (EIS) will be charged as of July 15th, 2021, to cover costs associated with increases in the trucking market and trucking shortages across the country.

Main reasons for these challenges are truck driver shortage, increased cost of operations, increased chassis street dwell, tightening inventory and availability and infrastructure challenges and congestion at terminals and rail ramps.
Emergency Intermodal Surcharge will currently be charged based on the following:
