Climate change and sustainable development are central challenges the logistics industry and its global customers face today and tomorrow. Only together we can find solutions to reduce climate impact and secure stable supply chains around the world.
Going beyond our daily efforts to increase sustainability in the market and throughout the supply chain, our 150th anniversary marks the launch of our first Sustainable Logistics Forum.
Because this challenge cannot be solved alone, we have initiated our first Sustainable Logistic Forum.
Jochen Thewes, CEO Schenker AG
On June 1, 2022, the DB Schenker Sustainable Logistics Forum brought together customers, partners and industry experts from all over the world to meet in Berlin, Germany with authorities from science, technology, and politics. Our intention is to make the world of transportation and logistics more sustainable. We initiated this forum to jointly go deeper into the topics related to climate change, sustainability and overall ESG challenges.
Among the speakers and panelists, Josué C. Velazquez’ of the Sustainable Supply Chain Lab at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in Boston held the forum’s keynote on the topic of “Measuring Sustainability”. Political challenges, further impulses, and panel discussions related to sustainable logistics and how sustainability will impact logistics in the future were the focus points.
We take this opportunity to share the insightful presentations and discussions with all our customers, other movers in the industry, and anyone with an interest in making supply chains more sustainable.
