Strike between the ILA (International Longshoremen’s Association) and the USMX (United States Maritime Alliance).
We have been informed by our Partners that the strike between the ILA (International Longshoremen’s Association) and the USMX (United Staes Maritime Alliance) has commenced. This follows ongoing labour negotiations.
The strike leads to a temporary closure of the US East Coast Ports as well as the Gulf Ports which impacts the movement of imports and exports (including loading and discharging of boxes and other operations).
Our Carrier Partners have given notification that they will adjust their maritime services, pending the acceleration of the circumstances. This could even lead to a suspension of operations of the entire service/service loops.
