THE GREAT OCEAN LINE PTE. LTD. ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE CURRENT SITUATION IN THE BAB EL-MANDARB STRAIT, SOUTHERN RED SEA AND THE GULF OF ADEN

LCL High Volume Surcharge - APAC exports to all Destinations

Following our announcement from 14 May 2024 we unfortunately observe widening and more intense situation of ripple effects originated or related to the Red Sea situation. This is causing dynamic disruptions to the supply chain resulting not only in longer transit times, but also bottlenecks on available Ocean Vessel capacity, a visible overall lack of equipment as well as increased Port and waterway congestions and dwell time in Ports around the world.

Consequently, rates are spiking as the available space is deteriorating. This situation especially effects ex- ports outbound Asia to all trade lanes. Based on this we do see a big increase of large LCL bookings.

To accommodate your cargo the best way possible and to support you in the current market situation we can secure additional LCL capacity for a premium which results in the below surcharges for high volume LCL shipments. The surcharges will be applied within 30 days from the date of this announcement to all agreed ocean freight rates and PSS to accommodate your additional high volume LCL shipments.

    20 - 25 cbm     35 USD W/M
