USTR Delays Start of Proposed Section 301 Changes
On May 28, 2024 the United States Trade Representative (USTR) published a notice in the Federal Register listing several proposed changes to the Section 301 duties on goods from China. Several of these changes were scheduled to take effect on August 1, 2024. USTR invited comments from the trade community from 5/29/24 – 6/28/24.
On July 30, 2024 USTR issued a press release stating that it received over 1,100 comments from the public and is still reviewing them. USTR now expects to issue a final decision in August, and any modifications will go into effect roughly two weeks after this final determination is made public.
We will continue to monitor the situation and send updates as more information becomes available.
