Damages in transit

If your goods have been damaged or lost, please proceed as follows:

  • Externally visible damage to goods / packaging and losses must be noted in detail immediately upon delivery. This can be done on the hand scanners or on the delivery note.
  • Remarks on the delivery note must also be confirmed in writing by the delivering driver.
  • In the event of concealed damage, DB Schenker must be informed of this in writing without delay, at the latest within seven days.

Claim damages

All claims must be made in writing in the form of a claim invoice and must include a claimed amount.

Remember to include the following documents:

  • Proof of value of goods (e.g. purchase or commercial invoice)
  • Detailed photos of the damaged / lost consignment
  • Weight of the damaged / lost packaging unit

For us to be able to assign your claim to one of our transports, please also note the waybill number, STT number or our claim number on your claim invoice.

Your claim invoice should also include a payment reference and bank information.

Since a claim process in the sense of § 1 UstG (Value Added Tax Act) is not a process in which added value is created, we request that you prepare your claim without value added tax.
