Shaping the future at ‘transport logistic’ 2019. See some of our highlights from this year’s trade fair.

At DB Schenker, we advance businesses and lives by shaping the way our world connects. From 4-7 June 2019, we opened our doors at the leading international trade show ‘transport logistic’ in Munich, Germany. Under the motto ‘logistics connected - shaping the future’, we presented sustainable and digital innovations as well as new services that move transport logistics now and into the future. Transport logistic is the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management and it has been taking place in Munich since 1978. This year’s event welcomed ~64,000 visitors from 125 countries and regions. Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and joined us in shaping the future!

New Board Members take their seats

Following the press conference at the DB Schenker booth, three new board members take their seats on the iconic DVZ Red Sofa – a well-known meeting place for many interviews in the past. Together with Sebastian Reimann, Editor-in-Chief at DVZ, they shared their insights on the present and future of logistics. Our new Schenker AG Management Board Members from left to right: Mr. Christian Drenthen (Land Transport), Mr. Thorsten Meincke (Air and Ocean Freight), Mr. Xavier Garijo (Contract Logistics).
The unveiling

Federal Transport Minister unveils world’s first!

The secret has been revealed: Germany’s Federal Transport Minister, Andreas Scheuer, came to our booth at transport logistic to unveil the Einride T-Pod and inspect it himself. The all-electric, driverless and autonomously controlled truck can be examined close-up at the fair. The vehicle does not have a cab and it is monitored and controlled by a human operator hundreds of miles away. Its design is conceived for a higher load capacity, more flexibility, an optimized power consumption as well as lower production and operating costs.

One booth – a thousand possibilities!

We shape the future of logistics! To demonstrate this to you in all facets during the transport logistic fair, we have come up with quite a few ideas to make our booth attractive and worth the visit. Over the course of 10 days, 40 crew members of our booth builder team were busy working on the 1200 square meters. A central element is our world’s first – the autonomous truck Einride T-Pod, which stands in a 7-meter high specially designed car port – around which the entire booth was built.
Autonomous truck

Einride T-Pod

In a world first, the all-electric autonomous self-driving truck is allowed to drive on public roads in Sweden. The Einride T-Pod will be on display at the DB Schenker stand. The truck has no driver’s cab and will be supervised and teleoperated by a human operator from hundreds of miles away. Its design allows for increased loading capacity, greater flexibility, optimized energy consumption, lower production and operating costs.
