    Honored “Gold” with the German Brand Award

    We made it twice.

    The 2023 winners of the German Brand Award, one of the most important German brand awards, have been announced. The prestigious award recognizes companies, agencies, service providers and marketeers from all industries, but also non-commercial and governmental organizations that stand out from the competition through exemplary brand management, sustainable campaigns and exceptional marketing projects. 

    From among 1,200 applications, we were awarded "Gold" in the category “Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation: Branded CSR Activities - Social" for the internal Company Challenge "Leading The Way" and thus belongs to a select group of honorees. Additionally, our DB SCHENKER 150 Years Elevating Lives Campaign has secured the German Brand Award "Winner" title in the “Excellent Brands - Logistics & Infrastructure” category.

    Under the umbrella theme "150 Years Elevating Lives", an internal company challenge was held over a period of twelve months. With the motto "Leading The Way", approximately 70,000 employees around the world were motivated to generate kilometers, both physically and mentally, and to track them via a specially created app. Each kilometer was rewarded with 1 ct. In this way, a total of EUR 1.2 million was donated to four charitable organizations. As an anniversary gift, all registered colleagues received a pair of the exclusive adidas sneakers in the brand colors of DB SCHENKER. 

    "DB SCHENKER can look back on 150 years of corporate history. In recent years, the topic of sustainability has become increasingly relevant for the brand and is now lived responsibly in many facets and areas of the company. The commitment includes not only ecological projects, but also social ones. A strong idea to directly involve the company's many employees in the commitment is the 'Leading The Way' Company Challenge. An excellently conceived campaign that fits perfectly with the brand and enhances the image in a holistic way," was the jury's statement.

    Our 360° Campaign

    For 150 years, we have been advancing lives by shaping the way our world connects. Driving innovation, connecting communities, and shaping a sustainable future to make the world a better place. We celebrated our anniversary year 2022 with an international campaign that focused on our history, our present, and our future as a global player and innovator in the logistics industry. In online and offline ads, the outstanding future-oriented projects of our four Business Units were communicated in their historical context, featuring the innovative strength of the DB SCHENKER Group, with a focus on “Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility”.
     
    The campaign claim “150 Years Elevating Lives” summarizes our mission and our objectives. It was placed in Germany in opinion-forming trade magazines and high-circulation titles of the daily press as well as in their online editions and on social media. The ads were adapted worldwide. The anniversary campaign was accompanied by an internal employee appreciation campaign, with DB SCHENKER thanking everyone for making other people’s life a little better every day.

    German Brand Award - an award of the German Brand Institute 

    The German Brand Award is divided into two major sections: In the "Excellent Brands" discipline, the jury takes a holistic view of brands and assesses the brand management of product and corporate brands within their competitive environments against each other. In the "Excellence in Brand Strategy and Creation" discipline, the quality of individual components of brand work is evaluated and the most important measures are compared across all sectors.
