Costs for petrol and diesel are becoming more and more subject to immense variabilities and thus they constitute an incalculable cost factor. The percentage for part and complete loads is significantly higher.

Tolls are charges levied on the use of certain types of traffic infrastructure, such as main and secondary highways and bridges and tunnels. Tolls are charged in many countries. In some European cities, a city toll is also due upon entry to the city center or to a low-emission zone.

On-time delivery in the city centers of large metropolitan areas is becoming increasingly difficult due to the rising volume of traffic there. In addition, temporary driving bans, traffic jams and unsuitable loading and unloading zones cause severe restrictions for private deliveries in city centres. This leads to an increased time and effort and to unavoidable cost increases for the delivery of your shipments to private recipients. Therefore a surcharge for deliveries in some city areas of Berlin, Frankfurt/Main, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich or Stuttgart can be applied. The metropolitan surcharge DB SCHENKERsystem home is applied for the postcodes listed below.

By deploying additional manpower and vehicles, DB Schenker maintains the necessary capacity to respond flexibly to fluctuating shipment volumes. The primary objective is to ensure consistently high delivery quality, even during peak periods such as spring or fall. Partially some of the additional expense incurred during peak periods are charged in form of a seasonal surcharge. The current periods for applying the season surcharge can be found in the attached calendar.
