The Product Owner is responsible for the management of products from an end-to-end perspective (Incl. budget responsibility and representing the business function). Typically guiding the development and implementation of IT&D solutions to create new business opportunities, acquiring, and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality.
Responsibilities:
- The Product Owner is responsible for the long-term planning (road map) and short-term planning (team's backlog and its prioritisation)
- The Product Owner is accountable for maximising the value of the product
- Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation, and delivery of the digital products (typically with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, and high-risk dependencies)
- Full accountability for a product, including budget
- Plans and monitors the product budget and manages resources
- Escalates in case of deviations to the respective stakeholders
- Selects the right agile practices to maximise the product's outcome and to deliver the right minimum viable products in close alignment with the agile coach
- Monitors and controls resources, revenue, and capital costs against the product budget and manages expectations of all product stakeholders
- Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the product
- Agrees on product approach with stakeholders, prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracks activities against the product schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate
- Acts as a servant leader to the team and is part of its operational workforce
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Logistics, Business Informatics, Computer Science
- 5 years' relevant working experience, previous exposure in Shipping or Logistics Industry is a definitive advantage
