Strikes in the logistics sector continue – stevedoring strike on 14.–17.2.

Political industrial action will affect DB Schenker’s transport services at the end of week 7. The Finnish Transport Workers' Union (AKT) has announced strikes in the stevedoring sector, which will start on Wednesday 14 February at 06.00 am and end on Saturday 17 February at 06.00 am.

We try to serve our customers as well as possible also in exceptional circumstances. However, customers should be prepared for delays in some of our international transports. Our domestic transport services will operate normally during the strike.

Land Transport – import and export

The stevedoring strike will particularly affect our export and import transports from and to Central Europe. Delays in transport schedules are expected and we cannot guarantee transport for all shipments to and from Central Europe on strike days. We also cannot offer the transport time guarantee included in the DB SCHENKER system premium product in either of these directions.

The transport of trailers is possible with the use of a complete vehicle combination and a driver. However, exceptional arrangements and traffic imbalances will significantly increase the cost of transport. To ensure that your international full or part load delivery is shipped, please contact your DB Schenker sales contact as soon as possible.

The strike covers all port operations and will therefore cause congestion.

    Contacting our Customer Service

Due to the industrial action, our customer service may experience occasional congestion on strike days. We therefore recommend using our digital services and customer service robot Betty as a priority.
