3D Visual and Warehouse Design Associate I

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

3D Visualization Tasks:

• Preparation work: Support in aligning with warehouse managers and solution design teams to understand their requirements and the impact on the timelines.
• Resolve conflicting deadlines and requirements through close alignment with GBS team and demand manager.
• Schedule kick-offs and follow-up on change requests.
• Document meetings as video recording or in writing if requested.
• Warehouse Design: support production of realistic 3D visualizations of warehouse designs to help stakeholders visualize the proposed layouts effectively.
• Ensure 2D layout created by internal customers is provided in time for the reserved capacity slot
• Transfer abovementioned 2D layout into 3D layout
• Fill warehouse with existing module database (e.g. forklifts), create new modules or research in public databases
• Define suitable textures, lighting, atmospheric effects and others for state-of-the-art visual impressions for rendering
• Render final model to create multiple pictures/scenes and flythrough videos in time (key deliverables)
• Create sequences by animating our products, props and cameras (on demand)
• Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve workflow and tool setup to drive efficiency and quality gains (e.g. identify and test new software).
• Training: Conduct Sketchup trainings to peers (on demand)
• Management support: Ensure workload sheet is up to date and support monthly management reviews
• Community support: Share models and module database with worldwide community (via MS Teams Channel) and ensure that it is kept up to date
• Performs other duties as assigned by direct superiors and managers.
• Daily Huddle board updates 3D Visualizer Deliverables:
• Fully animated fly-through video
• Ensure consistency in look-and-feel (DB Schenker logo, …) with possible regional variation - strong alignment with HO team
• Development of Object database for fast and consistent model build-up, Workflow excellence and documentation thereof
• Possibly training of workflow excellence to selective SD counterparts in regional teams who might conduct last minute edit

Primary Qualifications

• Ability to learn fast on how to use SketchUp, Enscape etc. via training given.
• Exceptional creativity and innovation.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment.
• Professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.
• Highly structured and organized.
• Ability to conduct market and competitor research.
• Basic knowledge of Logistics Industry.
• Ability to work with colleagues from all countries, mentalities & cultures across the Schenker world.
• Strong service orientated mind set Basic to advance knowledge of the following softwares:
• SketchUp, Enscape, Vray, Unreal Engine/Twin Motion, D5 Renderer, and Capcut.
• Studied Industrial or Logistic Engineering.
• Basic knowledge of Warehouse layout and warehouse processes.
• Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software.
• Preferably 2-3 years minimum experience in using SketchUp or any other relevant 3D rendering tool (optional).
