The sixth DB Schenker terminal in Poland with a BREEAM certificate

The DB Schenker in Poland project in the Podkarpacie region, commissioned this year, has been awarded a BREEAM certificate • This means that the terminal meets high standards of safety, environmental protection and comfort of use.

Another DB Schenker cross-docking terminal in Poland has received a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) certificate. This time it is a facility commissioned in the first quarter of 2021 in the “Rzeszów-Dworzysko” Science and Technology Park.

The terminal with an area of nearly 6,000 sq. m., designed to handle road transport for customers from various sectors, was built in accordance with the best standards of sustainable construction.

During the verification, water systems and issues such as energy efficiency, land development or the use of solutions in the area of pollution received especially high ratings. The BREEAM method also focuses on occupational health and safety solutions. The final assessment of the DB Schenker terminal in the Podkarpacie region reached the Very Good level.

The facility in Rzeszów, constructed by Panattoni, is safe and friendly both for employees and in terms of its impact on the environment. In addition, it has been equipped with a special ramp for snow removal from the roofs of trucks.

Green terminals

DB Schenker invests in a green network of cross-docking terminals. It is the sixth terminal in the operator’s Polish network with a BREEAM certificate. In addition to Rzeszów, BREEAM certificates have been awarded to the facility in Złotoria near Białystok, terminals near Olsztyn, Zielona Góra and Wrocław. Earlier this year, the new terminal in Świdnik in the Lublin region was also successfully audited for BREEAM.

BREEAM certification defines standards for the design, construction and use of facilities.
