What fascinates you most about your work in IT&D in logistics?
The complexity of the DB SCHENKER IT landscape in combination with frequent new technologies is often challenging but this diversity keeps daily business interesting.

What is your professional background and what has your career journey been like?
In 2004 I started working for DB SCHENKER as an Electronic Data Interchange Developer for the Southeast Europe region. When I moved to the head office in 2017, the scope of my work changed completely – I had the chance to dive into data modeling by creating canonical interfaces and have learnt many things about the integration platforms and applications in DB SCHENKER's IT landscape. After almost 19 years, I'm still passionate about my job due to its variety.

What was your biggest professional challenge and how did you overcome it?
My biggest challenge was the change I made last year. I have always been a purely technical consultant in the past and my current job role is in Global IT Partner Management, where I needed to – and still need to – learn much more about our business and about our customers' needs.

What aspect of your current job has surprised you the most or been the most unexpected?
Although I'm a developer at heart, I like the opportunity to learn more details about our business processes. I also didn't expect to meet so many amazing, new people in my new role.

Why would you encourage women to take on a career in IT&D in logistics?
Don't be shy! It's a great field to work in and to challenge yourself. There are also lots of amazing colleagues and so much diversity!

Thank you, Sandra for being such an inspiration to all of us. It was a pleasure meeting you.
