Conduct independent analysis of business and technical issues and recommend alternative solutions, including development effort estimates
• Create or modify low to medium complexity, technical software designs based upon the analysis of business requirements
• Create or modify, test, and install software modules, including system documentation
• Coordinate software development activities with project team members, including mentoring other staff members
• Assume on-call support activities
• Work with representatives of the user community to define and document system requirements, report progress and status, develop and coordinate system testing, assist with training, and develop user documentation
• Perform all development activities according to department standards
• Maintain proficiency in the languages and platforms required to develop applications
• Conform to all development and support activity deadlines
• Report development status to IT management, including all unanticipated events affecting development
• Ability to work on multiple projects.
• Understands and supports project management methodology.
Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel): This is an intermediate level position that works under general supervision. Solid interpersonal and analytical skills required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred. Generally prefer 2-4 years of related experience.
