DB Schenker New Zealand supports animal protection
In February 2019 volunteers from DB Schenker New Zealand supported SPCA New Zealand, a non profit organization which is active in all kind of animal protection projects.
DB Schenker APAC steps up for under- privileged kids
Our APAC team has made incredible contributions to society this year so far. In March, Schenker Singapore volunteers offered to take underprivileged families to KidZania for a day. KidZania is an indoor theme park for children. This gave families the time and space to bond, relax, and have a good time without having to stress over the costs.
In April, 14 Schenker employees from Shanghai visited the “Shanghai Baby’s Home”, a foster care center for orphaned and abandoned children with special needs. Our volunteers accompanied the children and supported the staff with any help they needed. In addition, the employees crafted bear dolls to sell with the proceeds going towards charity.
On top of that our Singapore team visited Cambodia for their annual “Building Cambodia” trip. In partnership with the Operation Hope Foundation, DB Schenker employees helped by bringing aid to families living below the international poverty line. The village the Schenker team decided to visit was one of the poorest in Cambodia. Our volunteers built houses, upgraded facilities, distributed food and provided games for the children.
In 2017, DB Schenker employees in Hanoi had already visited children affected by HIV/AIDS in and decided that a “Library of Love” should be created for the children. Employees of DB Schenker willingly contributed towards the library via cash donations and salary reductions. Many employees donated new and used books, magazines, and more reading material. The “Library of Love” is now there for the children to use for both pleasure and their educational development. In June 2018, DB Schenker employees made a second visit to the children. During this trip, the employees made use of the library, they read stories to the children and took the time to provide a training for the children to teach them skills on how to prevent sexual harassment. The contributions from the DB Schenker employees have made a huge difference to these children’s lives.
All these contributions of time, goods and money from the DB Schenker employees in Asia have made a huge difference to these children’s lives.
Every year, on June 8th, people around the world celebrate World Ocean’s Day to honor the ocean. This year, DB Schenker joined in the celebration. Following the motto “We need the ocean and the ocean needs us”, DB Schenker locations from around the globe participated by hosting their own ocean oriented activities.
This year, DB Schenker employees partnered with employees from the American Red Cross, Florida Power and Light, and Miami Dade Fire and Rescue in order to participate in the event and make a difference within the community.
Planting Trees on Earth Day: DB Schenker Canada walks the talk
On May 12th, 2018, 50 Schenker staff, family, and friends "Walked The Talk" by participating in a Community Tree Planting in collaboration with Partners in Project Green and the Toronto Regional Conservation Authority.
Since more than 40 years, Earth Day has been celebrated around the world to demonstrate support for environmental protection. This year, on April 22nd, 20 DB Schenker employees in Hanoi partnered with volunteers from other companies in the Bat Khoi area in Hanoi to participate in this global event.
This 20th October 2017 was an extraordinary day for Schenker-Seino colleagues from various locations. They took on color for an important reason, coming to work wearing the shirt of their favorite sports team. For this opportunity, colleagues donated for charitable causes on this special “SportsShirt2Work” day.
Two teams, one goal: The Teams of Patrick Oestreich and Simon Mikat fundraised a remarkable amount of over 1000 EUR at the bake sale for SOS Kinderdorf e. V.
DB Schenker in Romania continues to collaborate with the non-profit organization, Ecoassist, and together they have developed a tree planting project, which is being implemented in important regions.
After months of heavy monsoon rainfalls on the east coast region of the Malaysian peninsula, Schenker Malaysia decided to help the victims of the subsequent landslides and worst floods in the last decades that affected many citizens
Starting in 2011 after the major earthquake in Port au Prince in January 2010, DB Schenker France regularly provide logistics support to two associations which are in charge of goods donation for dedicated structures like schools and orphanages in Haiti.
DB Schenker in Korea is voluntarily helping to serve dinner for the homeless every month since 2008. In support of DB Schenker Korea management, we provide special support to take 100% of expense for member’s dinner at service day.
In November 2016, 25 colleagues from DB Schenker Oman joined the annual walkathon of the local Cancer Association to raise awareness about cancer prevention.
As one part of the local Corporate Volunteering crossborder activities in Schenker Singapore, we work together with a local NGO to provide the poor villagers in Cambodia with safe housing, clean water and sanitation.
In 2015 a team of DB Schenker colleagues in New York rolled up their sleeves in a small preserve in the community due to an environment that was in need of some serious assistance.
