On May 12th, 2018, 50 Schenker staff, family, and friends "Walked The Talk" by participating in a Community Tree Planting in collaboration with Partners in Project Green and the Toronto Regional Conservation Authority. The team donned their Schenker t-shirts with pride and helped plant more than 450 trees and shrubs in the Clareville Conservation Area! These shrubs and trees will help protect water quality and quantity, reduce soil erosion, clean the air, and save animals who need large areas of forest to survive.
Urbanization and land management practices in the Greater Toronto Area have led to a loss in quality forest and woodland habitats. The effort's main goal was to contribute to the betterment of the Clareville Conservation Area by throwing on some gloves and planting a myriad of greens where they were needed most. The event was a part of the Schenker Canada Spring Environmental Challenge, where each office was challenged to participate in an event to protect the environment and support local communities in commemoration of Earth Day.
