In 2015 DB Schenker Hungary started a cooperation with the local Food Bank Association to help people in need. Among other activities like a local charity run, we deliver food to people in need on a daily base. Every workday our colleagues pick up the remaining breads and other pastries from a local supermarket and bring the food to where it is needed. This way we can help people living in extreme poverty using the expertise we have as a professional provider of freight services. The Hungarian Food Bank Association was selected as a reliable partner in connection with other associations helping people living in challenging circumstances.
We are very happy to be a part of this project and being able to help to get the remaining food to the people who really need it. Around two volunteers work for this project every morning which is appreciated very much from the beneficiaries who have personally voiced their gratitude by sending letters with appreciating words to our colleagues.
