1000 sqm Warehouse Space, Over 200 Transportation The Lausanne 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games were held on January 9th to 22nd in Lausanne, Switzerland. For the first time in the game’s history, 79 countries participated bringing 1872 athletes to the games. The DB Schenker team were on hand before, during and after the games to provide logistics services to the organizing committee, its partners and select teams attending Lausanne 2020.

In a sporting event of this magnitude, our experts transported and processed sports equipment from its origins to the port of entry onto the game’s venue. During the games, our teams handled over 1500 sports bags and sporting equipment.

This is one of the biggest sports events ever held in Switzerland. We at DB Schenker Switzerland are proud to have partnered with the Lausanne 2020 Youth Olympic Games

Items transported included everything from medals, podium, flags and poles to technical media, scoreboards, screens, sound system and broadcasting materials. We also transported equipment for food and beverage, kitchen, lockers, toilet paper and even the mascot of the event and many more.

A separate team was deployed to the Youth Olympic Village in Lausanne – called the Vortex – to coordinate and guarantee the logistics processes on the ground.
