    Your tasks

    * Financial/Commercial
    o Primary responsibility for the budget of the China Air Freight organization as it relates to the results of the division
    o Negotiation with preferred and non-preferred carriers in the framework of the DB Schenker defined corporate and regional carrier strategy
    * Structural (at cluster and country level)
    o Recruitment & selection of key position holders in alignment with regional management
    o Sign-off on performance agreements for all direct and functional reports
    o Control of staff performance and rewards.
    * Responsible for all China Air Freight operations and adherence to guidelines and policies
    * Responsible for delivery of budgeted volume and EBIT (before allocations) for the air freight operations
    * Actively promote the growth of trade lane sales development with overseas partners
    * Drive productivity through automation and process alignment/standardization
    * Monitor and review airline performance management for continuous operations improvement
    * Manage alternative process/flows to proactively support customers and business needs
    * Define and manage Service Level Agreements
    * Ensure optimum airline lift and space capacity utilization especially in preparation of peak season
    * Support profit improvement objectives through continuous process improvement of air operations
    * Study and implement industry best practices and market trends on operational and service excellence (both backend and frontend)
    * Provide advice and operation support to the sales team for all air freight sales initiatives
    * Responsible for strong interface with customers to provide optimal operation support and service quality
    * Conduct regular communication sessions / meetings to promote teamwork and departments' overall effectiveness and efficiency.
    * Conduct cross divisional communication sessions on customer service improvement plans.
    * Act as an escalation channel for all operation matters impacting the department's performance and customer satisfaction
    * Establish and manage supporting resource plans (including development of capital, human resource, operational and infrastructure plans) to enable delivery of business plan objectives.
    * Onboarding of new key customers and support implementation of new business

    Requirements

    * Degree in Logistics, Freight Forwarding Administration, or related faculty
    * 10+ years of experience in leading & managing an Ocean Freight product department in a similar sized company
    * Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization both domestically and internationally
    * Proven track record in a matrixed, multicultural organization
    * Strategic thinker, yet able to translate strategy into deployable action plans
    * Highly developed interpersonal communication, presentation and persuasive skills
    * Very dynamic and can work effectively with different strata of the organization - from senior management to the employee level
    * Strong analytical skills, business-savvy and at ease with data-driven decision-making
    * Strong coaching skills and people developer
    * Intercultural competence & sensitivity
    * Good command of spoken and written English
    * Ability to converse and write in Mandarin will be a strong advantage
    * Position requires extensive travel
