    Your tasks

    Position Description Summary: Manages Health and Safety activities within assigned sites / region and advises Program Manager on all safety, health and welfare matters to ensure compliance with organizational obligations. Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.): Serves in a supporting role to the Program Manager in providing strategic direction on the planning, development, administration, and management of the company's safety policies, programs, and training for assigned areas. Provides oversight to safety performance reporting and identifies target areas of opportunity in coordination with Program Manager based on trends and audit results. Serves as an escalation point of contact critical to incident management and regulatory agency audits / inspections. Works with Program Manager to develop broad-based programs to mitigate risk. Advises Program Manager on health and safety issues related to new and existing business to ensure compliance with health and safety items. Interacts with customer on health and safety matters as required Works daily with field health and safety managers on training, technical support and guidance of health and safety matters. Support and participate as an active member on the company's safety steering team committee. Provide facility audits and inspections as needed and report findings to senior leadership. Participate with cross-functional teams to solve health and safety problems within the organization. The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.

    Requirements

    Knowledge and Skills (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel): Bachelor's degree required, preferably in environmental, safety, or industrial hygiene related field 7+ years supervisory or leading team experience. 1-3 years warehouse/distribution/logistics experience. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, EPA, NFPA and ANSI regulatory environments / standards. Knowledge of hazardous material / dangerous goods regulations. Knowledge of behavioral-based safety principles and practices. Knowledge of accident prevention and safety equipment. Knowledge of health and safety Risk Management loss prevention methods. Ability to work independently and multi-task Ability to lead and direct teams. Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
