The difference between 4PL and Freight Management is that in a Freight Management solution the customer contracts the transporter, whereas in the 4PL solution, we contract the transporter.
The benefit of Freight Management is that it is relatively quick to implement. But you are still exposed to capacity deficits of chosen carrier, their service problems and rate fluctuations.
The business model for Freight Management is normally based on management fees and gain sharing.
