Meet Himanshu Kashyap, Software Engineer from TSC India Solution Delivery Team

We’ve been delighted to hear so many inspiring stories of women in tech, chasing after their dreams and stopping at nothing to create a life they adore. Today we have the pleasure of meeting Himanshu Kashyap who resonates the same passion and attitude towards her career, her life. Let us inspire ourselves with yet another story in #WomeninIT

Can you tell us a little bit about your career path?

I am a Master’s in Computer Applications. Soon after my post-graduation, I had joined National Informatic Center, India, and worked here for 6 years. Thereafter in February 2020, I had joined DB Schenker TSC India as the developer.

What made you decide to pursue a career in technology/ engineering?

My elder sister is also an engineer. My career decision to get into the world of technology, software engineering, is influenced by her. She is a true inspiration for me. I have learned a lot from her about the profession.

Do you feel that women have the same opportunities as men in the tech world?

Yes definitely! It’s not only about opportunities but also for making it a successful one there is a supportive family who believes in you, boosts your morale. I am indeed blessed to do what I’m passionate about and have a lovely family who helps me grow in my career!

What led you to embark on a career with DB Schenker TSC India?

The best thing about working here are the learning opportunities through different projects. The work we do gives us very good exposure. I have been working on warehouse projects which are very much in demand in the IT industry. The organization promotes good learning culture.

Any challenging assignment you have got a chance to work on?

Initially, every job has challenges. Therefore, I too had here and in my early job.  I remember I was assigned a task on RF (a device used in warehouse for scanning). It was a new project for me with tasks that were relatively new for me to perform.  I took it as a challenge, learnt from my team lead, colleagues, coordinated for the project deliverables, and worked on the requirements successfully.

Inspirational mentors, you look up to in your career?

I feel everyone around me taught me in many ways, making my life beautiful on the professional and personal front. Here, I would love to share about the work front. Our team lead is very supportive he is always there to assist us. He shares his expertise in the work area and also guides us about various training which can help us advance in our career. I also look up to for inspiration from our Project Manager. His way of working, assigning tasks to the team, positive attitude, is worth learning. And of course, my teammates always motivate me to perform better and best.

How do you keep yourself informed about the latest trends in tech?

DB Schenker learning portal, in house training, technology blogs, interaction with colleagues and our team leads also share useful insights about the tech which is indeed useful.

What advice would you give to women who would like to start a career in tech?

Of whatever you do, do it with ‘full heart’, put all your efforts to make it a successful one.

Finally, where do you see yourself in five years? Still in tech?

Yup, still in tech. I have worked on various technologies; I have learnt about various technologies.  I have gained quite good insights, networking, and expertise, …5 years from today I aspire and see myself in the management team from the tech side.

Himanshu, thanks for sharing. We wish you a lot of success in your professional role with us. Good luck!
