In this article, we’d like to take a chance to spotlight our dynamic team and highlight two integral members of our Contract Logistics team: Trong Minh Luu – Finished Goods Operation Manager and Ly Cam - Shipping Clerk. Through their stories, working experiences, and perspectives, we gain insight into their roles and the broader logistics market in Vietnam.
- Luu Trong Minh – Finished Goods Operation Manager
With a background in General Business Administration and Logistics, Minh began his career journey at DB SCHENKER in 2014. Over the past 10 years in Contract Logistics, particularly in the A9 warehouse - a warehouse located in Saigon Hightech Park (Binh Duong Province) dedicated to a semiconductor client, he has gained valuable experience and continuous support from colleagues and managers, helping him grow daily.
With his experiences of Contract Logistics, we asked him few questions about his viewing about the industrial city as well as the warehouse operations:
1. What factors contribute to the attractiveness of Binh Duong for contract logistics operations?
Binh Duong is an attractive destination for contract logistics operations due to its strategic location with numerous industrial parks, modern infrastructure, and government incentives that attract foreign investment. It also benefits from a well-educated, abundant labor pool at competitive wages, essential for efficient logistics operations. Additionally, Binh Duong offers excellent market access and proximity to major ports and transportation hubs, enabling efficient service to domestic and Southeast Asian markets.
2. How do you ensure efficiency and productivity in warehouse operations?
Efficiency in warehouse operations begins with effective people management and a "safety first" mindset. Prioritizing safety improves overall productivity. Initiatives like 5S* and TIMWOODS*, along with clear vision and planning, are essential.
*5S: is a systematic approach to workplace organization and standardization, originating from Japan and commonly used in lean manufacturing. It stands for: Sort (Seiri) - Set in Order (Seiton) - Shine (Seiso) - Standardize (Seiketsu)- Sustain (Shitsuke).
*TIMWOODS: is an acronym used in lean manufacturing and logistics to identify and eliminate waste in processes, it stands for: Transportation - Inventory - Motion - Waiting - Overproduction - Overprocessing - Defects – Skills.

As a shipping clerk at DB SCHENKER, Cam plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse located in Saigon Hightech Park (Binh Duong Province). She manages crucial tasks such as document handovers, system management, and compliance with SOPs, guaranteeing the timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers.

1. What do you enjoy most about working in this industry/company?
Having dedicated 10 years to DB SCHENKER, I find it satisfied in working within Contract Logistics, particularly in this warehouse. With the kind support and good collaboration from not only our Shipping clerk team but also the whole A9 warehouse, the supportive environment working would help me accomplish my tasks and achieve the goals setting year by year.
2. What gets you truly excited about coming to work each day?
Being part of the DB SCHENKER family is an honor to me and a memorable experience. The supportive environment here offers great opportunities for self-improvement and recognizes every contribution. It was these factors that inspire a delighted atmosphere for me to do my utmost energetically every day.
3. How do you ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers?
To ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers, detailed and practical plans are created for all responsibilities. This includes the timely handover of shipping documents, accurate system management, and prompt email responses. Valuing punctuality and strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) ensures the efficient and precise delivery of goods to customers.
